Acupuncture Wellness Treatments
The balance of your health is influenced by many factors in your daily life including physical activity, diet, stress, sleep, aging, and environmental effects.

Regular acupuncture treatments are an effective way to support your ability to manage the conditions of these variables, maintain a positive quality of life, and reduce your risk of debility and chronic disease. For this reason, Acupuncture is heralded world-wide for its desired results as preventive medicine.
According to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), acupuncture can:

~ Support your body in regulating proper metabolism and organ function

~ Strengthen your immune system and increase resistance to infections

~ Counteract the effects of stress and normalize chemical levels in the brain

~ Balance the autonomic nervous system and hormonal levels

~ Enhance detoxification pathways and improve circulation
Your own personal treatment strategy and frequency will be determined by a thorough assessment of your personal health factors.

Trigger Point Acupuncture
Shoulder Pain
Trigger points are tight bands or knots in muscles and soft tissue that are commonly the source of pain and stiffness that can lead to chronic musculoskeletal dysfunction.

Acupuncture can be very effective in treating trigger points since it can directly access specific muscles to deactivate spasms and reset muscular imbalances. This is achieved by eliciting a local twitch or release in the muscle fibers through careful stimulation of the nerves that control muscle contraction.
Trigger point acupuncture can treat:

~ Headaches and TMJ (Jaw) Pain

~ Neck and Back Pain (Pinched Nerve) (Disc Pathology)

~ Frozen Shoulder and Rotator Cuff Pain

~ Epicondylitis (Elbow) and Carpal Tunnel (Wrist) Pain

~ Tendonitis and Repetitive Strain Injury

~ Hip, Leg, and Knee Pain

~ Plantar Fasciitis (Foot) Pain

~ Fibromyalgia and Lupus (SLE)
During a typical treatment, manual therapies such as myofascial manipulation and massage techniques are applied after trigger point acupuncture to lengthen shortened muscles and re-establish correct alignment.
